Tire Size Question.

I just picked up some 17" rims for the accord. I had 18's on before and popped the tire the first week. So now I'm trying to find the biggest tire I can get to fit without rubbin. I think I screwed up. I was at the salvage yard today and found some 17" tires. They are 225 55R17. I think there too big to fit but wasn't sure. I also have my car lowered with skunk2 springs. Any ideas? If there too big I'm not too worried about it. I can get my money back out of them. But I just don't want to pay to have them installed if there to big. I appreciate you input. I know this question has been asked in the passed but I couldn't find it. After looking for about 30 mins I decided to make a new post. Thanks, Jason
