Bisimoto/Gen5Alive project

Hey Everyone I just thought I would share with you a project that BisiMoto and I have agreed to collaborate on.

The project car is actually mine and is set to slowly ramp up starting on Monday 3/17/08 with a baseline dyno run.

Just a little background on this endeavor so you know the details of it,

The car is a 1994 Honda Accord EX which was purchased at 172,xxx miles and is now at 198xxx miles.
It is currently used as the transport for our store parts as well as shipping, in the past few months it has been neglected due to an overflow in workload and has been worked on here and there when we had spare time.

So let's talk about the end goals of this project; The build is based around modifications that an average to intermediate street enthusiest can perform. Nothing too heavy duty and invasive with downtime to a minimum and a daily driven car is the ultimate end goal.
Having said that you can understand that the end outcome may or may not be significant (depending on how you view it) and with that lets move on the the list.

The Accord is touted at 145hp and 147ft lbs of torque.......

The modifications done for a engine performance aspect are;
- Unorthodox Racing lightened Alternator pulley
- Unorthodox Racing lightened Power steering pulley
- AEM Short ram intake with Apexi Power intake filter kit
- DC Sports 4-2-1 Ceramic header
- Aftermarket no name highflow cat, direct bolt on
- Magnaflow full cat back exhaust
- Upgraded grounds from engine to chassis
- Running Mobil1 Oil and filter

On 3/17/08 this Accord will be put on a dyno to find out just what type of gain or change these modifications have had on the motor in terms of power.
Shortly thereafter we will be performing the F23 Intake manifold swap (Pending completion at this time for polishing), Bisimoto stage 2 cam and cam gear, as well as a new clutch/flywheel as the final modifications.

To keep updated you will want to either subscribe to this thread or simply keep an eye out on Monday for the end result.

A couple pics of the car with a wash and dry, New lug set was put on specifically for this event as well. Much thanks to NaisaMike for supplying a loaner lip to use and to Bisimoto Engineering for agreeing to take on this project with my vehicle.

Actually I really dont care too much since those will change when we do the next dyno run. I've actually seen a Accord pull about 130whp on a dyno before with intake/header/exhaust and everything else stock........On top of that you will start seeing more products from Bisimoto as well since we are now pairing up to bring you wider array of quality products that are straight up performance minded.

Man I'm excited about this! This is exactly what I was wanting to do, except perhaps for just a stage 1 cam, but this may end up changing my mind when it's finished. Any projected timeline for completion or is it just a spare time project?

DoC-JoneS is just starting out on the road of life
looking forward to this too. after the car show i'm putting on in april (assuming i have time for the install) i will have dyno figures for my build as well. it'd be good to do a comparo. i also need to do a run after my timing belt, cam gear and UR crank pulley install before i get into tuning.

Hey Joe, Thanks man and it does sound really cool actually. For me it is a huge thing actually and I still am light headed over it with excitement. I thnk if anything it will be a precedent for those with 200,xxx miles on their car so they can understand what type of power the motor can (or maybe cannot?) put out at such high mileage.

Hey drivetrain i'm excited as well and as I was talking with Bisi I mentioned that I wanted a build centered around mods that almost anyone can perform. The projected timeline will not be known until Monday when the car goes in for a dyno and gets a baseline..

Unfortunately probably not at this time, however with the resources this site can provide and the mods done on my car you could do the very same build within a matter of hours.

Hey Jason thanks for the support on this endeavor and the kind words of encouragement. It still feels very much unreal to me at this time to be able to work with such a great mind as Bisi on a project that I once lost hope for (at given points in time). I always wanted my car to be something apart from the crowd and this may be just it for SoCal (or at least to the crowd we hang out and talk with).

Hey Gabe, I think we both need to go grab beers or something together to really understand each other. I wasn't angry/frustrated or otherwise with your post at all, not even in the slightest. I think that in the beginning with my first Accord I was really excited about my 125hp (91 LX, Auto) and thought that thing was decent. I then went to my 95 EX, Manual and had lots more fun and now I have an opportunity to have a renewed excitement with my current 94 EX. Bisi has even mentioned how the F22b1 head isn't the best for a tuner project as he told me with a F22A head he could do a lot more. So the next question is how much more? Bisi quoted that with a F22A head he could pound out a 260whp daily driver without breaking a sweat.........................However the build for this car was centered around mods that anyone can perform so that is why I am sticking with the F22b1. Less downtime, not as invasive and daily driven.
As far as dyno and numbers (actual) I am hoping for a fairly good run and show of numbers but at the same time having not done anything huge in terms of modification, reality does set in and I am just hopeful that it has a decent output given the mods on the car.

Hey Justin, yeah it'll be great to see your build turnout when done too. I think the main difference here will be your UR Crank pulley since I won't have that on and then the other difference being just the car condition. It will be great to see yours at the end and also in progress so good luck to both of us and i'm excited for what the near future holds.

Damn I'm ready to see these numbers before the cam. I'm actually debating on buying the Stage 2 if I can hurry up and finish what I'm working on now.
